Four-eyed Laagan Receives the Best Creative Writing in a Blog Award

“The best way to avoid disappointment is to not expect anything from anyone.”

A quote that is taken from Google that I believed in most of the time. It may sound like going wherever the river will take you but this is the safest place to prevent disappointments. It’s good to be paddling your own boat against the strong current of the river but don’t get yourself over passionate because it may lead you to frustrations and discouragement.

I’ve been to different situations in life but I am thankful that a part of me is phlegmatic that I tend to ignore many expectations because I easily get exasperated. For me, it would be better to be just YOU and live every moment of the Earth rotates and revolves around the Sun and be surprised of the baby footsteps towards your goals.

Once again, I once proved this belief and got surprised with the first ever legit award I received from the Best Cebu Blogs Awards 2016 last November 27, 2016, held at Crown Regency Hotel and Towers. I was lucky and blessed to be receiving this year’s Best Creative Writing in a Blog Award by Memoriter Writing Services. Astonishing, isn’t it? Even I couldn’t believe I just won this kind of award!

Best Creative Writing in a Blog Award is given by Memoriter Writing Services who selected the blog that has the most creative writing among the finalists of all categories of the prominent awards.

I was lucky, really lucky, because the award-winning people I look up to most especially of being creative in writing are not nominated for this year’s awards. Haha! But I am very thankful, really, really thankful for receiving this award. I feel the pressure and tense because I know I am still learning and exploring the voice that I have or will have for my blog. I know and I really admit I am not that artistic in my craft and I am not even a Feature Writer during my school days.

The moment I saw the news to be a finalist of Travel Category of this years’ Best Cebu Blogs Awards, I did not expect one thing. I told my friends who keep on telling me “Uy Good luck!”, “Congratulations!”, “Kaya yan!” and I always respond them as “haha! Wala raman ko ana uy, nasaag rako, “Salamat!”. I have not set any expectation for myself to bring home the bacon on that awards night because I know, I’m not capable of such. Nonetheless, I wanted to be there during the gratifying night to witness and experience at least once in my life that I can tell myself, I am a blogger.

Giving myself a long week break from blogging made me realize, one thing, to just keep doing what I’m doing. As what Dory said to Marlin, “Just keep swimming… Just keep swimming…” and I’ll get there. I know someday, someday.

I may not have bagged the Best Travel Blog Award with but words could not describe how happy I am to be bestowed with the Best Creative Writing in A Blog Award. Blown up my mind of beating ‘em finalist! Haha! Kidding aside, I will strive and continue doing my own thing for my readers to let them feel what I felt during my adrenaline-pumping adventures.

Thank you very much, Cebu Blogging Community and High-Intensity Bloggers for the opportunity, the lessons and the undying support for Four-eyed Laagan. Without your guide, I wouldn’t be here to where I am in this tight-raced world. Thank you to Best Cebu Blogs Awards and Memoriter Writing Services for entrusting me and recognizing my blog especially my writing style.

Congratulations to all winners and finalists!

And mostly, thank you to YOU for staying and subscribing my blog and keeping in touch with the tales of the Four-eyed Laagan, where seeing the beauty of the world through his spectacles.
